Kid Bike – Balance Bikes, Trikes, Tricycles, Stabilisers Bikes – What is all the fuss about?!

A kid bike isn’t simply a kids bike any more. There are different types of kid bikes now. You have trikes, balance bikes, wooden bikes, stabilisers bikes, tricycles… and more. It can seem extremely confusing to a novice parent who doesn’t understand anything about the recent technology updates for a kid bike. This article will help explain all of the different types of bicycles you can currently purchase on the market.

Stabilisers Bike: A stabilisers bike is a bicycle with two big wheels and two small wheels. While this creates support for your child, it doesn’t teach them the most critical part of the riding experience – balance. This is what a child needs to learn the most when starting to ride a bike.

Balance Bike: A balance bike is a bicycle without pedals. The basis of a balance bike is that it will first teach your child how to balance and how to feel comfortable on a bicycle. This will help them move onto bigger, two-wheeled bicycles later on.

Tricycles: Tricycles are bicycles with pedals that have three wheels. There are two normal wheels and then one wheel in the back. You can buy them for your child but they generally only last a year or two. They don’t teach your child how to balance, unfortunately.

These are the three most common types of kids bikes that you will see on the market. While they all have their own advantages and benefits, the winner out of the group has to be the balance bike. This bicycle is getting the most rave reviews from parents. There are only advantages and children absolutely love them! If you’re looking for a kid bike then definitely invest into a balance bike. They are the way of the future when it comes to kids bicycles.
